Below are answers to some common questions about grooming at Gentle Grooming Graces. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out.
No. Gentle Grooming Graces offers one-on-one grooming only. This allows for a calm, quiet environment and individualized attention for each pet.
Grooming appointments typically take 3–4 hours; however, the exact length of time varies for each individual pet.
Appointment duration depends on factors such as coat condition, behavior, tolerance for handling, and whether breaks are needed. Extra time may be taken to ensure your pet remains comfortable and safe throughout the grooming process.
Because comfort and safety always come first, grooming is never rushed.
Once grooming is complete, you will be notified that your pet is ready for pick-up.
Please plan to pick up your pet promptly, as Gentle Grooming Graces is a home-based studio with limited holding space. Timely pick-up helps maintain a calm environment and ensures the comfort and safety of all pets.
If you anticipate a delay, please communicate as soon as possible so arrangements can be discussed. Extended pick-up delays may require adjustments to future booking availability.
Grooming frequency varies based on your pet’s coat type, length, lifestyle, and individual needs.
As a general guideline:
Short-coated pets: every 6–8 weeks
Medium to long-coated pets: every 4–6 weeks
Curly or continuously growing coats (such as poodles and doodles): every 3–5 weeks
Regular grooming helps maintain coat health, prevent matting, and keep your pet comfortable. More frequent visits may be recommended for pets with longer coats, heavy shedding, or specific coat challenges.
I’m always happy to help recommend a grooming schedule that best supports your pet’s comfort and care.
For safety and to reduce distractions, owners do not stay during grooming sessions. This helps most pets remain calmer and allows me to focus fully on their care.
Many of my clients are pets who need a gentle, patient approach. Please share any concerns or sensitivities during booking so I can tailor the session appropriately.
Your pet’s comfort and safety always come first. If any portion of the groom cannot be safely completed, that portion will be omitted. No discounts are offered for incomplete services.
Severely matted coats may require additional time, special handling, or clipping for your pet’s comfort and safety. Additional charges may apply, and options will be discussed before proceeding.
